The update to Oroville’s Housing Element for the period 2022-2030 will be a 11-month process which formally kicks off in September 2021 and will culminate in Fall 2022.

TIMELINE MILESTONES

1) Public Outreach, Analysis, and Housing Element Updates – Community input activities, data analysis and writing of the updated document. This includes a community outreach at the Salmon Festival with residents in September, and two community meetings in October and November 2021. Online surveys will take place in September/October and November/December 2021.

2) Initial State Review – Initial analysis of first draft document by State Department of Housing & Community Development (HCD) in January 2022.

3) Public Comment & City Review – Public meetings in 2022 to consider Housing Element drafts:   The City of Oroville Planning Commission held a public hearing on the project at 6:00 pm on, Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the City Council Chambers, 1735 Montgomery Street, Oroville, CA.  The City of Oroville City Council held a public hearing on the project at 4:00 pm (open session at 4:30) on, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in the City Council Chambers, 1735 Montgomery Street, Oroville, CA.

4) Final State Review & Certification – State HCD review of final HE draft approved by the City Council and certification of its compliance with Housing Element Law by Fall 2022.
